Canal Cottage Crafts

I'm so excited to share my new venture with you! Having taken forever to come around to the idea of blogs and Instagram (I still can't face Twitter or Facebook having tried the latter and decided it's not for me.) I now have TWO Instagram accounts! I decided to create a second one dedicated specifically to my passion for crafting, mainly crochet blankets and knitted items, especially hoodies, for little people. So, since I live in Canal View Cottage, I have created Canal Cottage Crafts. It launched on Instagram a couple of months ago and has attracted quite a lot of interest already!!

Even more exciting is that I have been offered the wonderful opportunity to sell my stuff in a proper shop! So I now have what I call my Rainbow Rail in the Craft Hutch in Grassington, here in the North Yorkshire Dales. Grassington is a lovely, vibrant place which attracts lots of tourists, holidaymakers, walkers and locals. It has regular events too like the annual Summer Festival of music and Arts and Dickensian Christmas Markets in December.

And here is my Rainbow Rail!!! So proud!!

I think it looks great!!!

This has been one of my most popular hoodies that I've sold a lot of over the years.

This Rainbow Coat is my own design and was a bespoke order that I have just finished! Grandma who ordered it was highly delighted!

 I make Rainbow Blankets too!

Or I can stick to traditional colours! Blues........... creams.......lemons.....

And pinks of course!

I've almost finished this hoodie, blanket and hat set ready for my friend's Granddaughter who is due to arrive this weekend!! Exciting!!
f

This one is finished and delivered. I love these owl buttons!

And then there are Rainbow Stripe blankets which I really love too! I've sent these all over the world in recent years. I can do these in a variety of sizes and colours.

So bright and cheerful! Love them!

My most unique creative project, which I made a few years ago, is my Flower Garden Blanket. I literally made this up as I went along, starting with making lots of colourful hexagon flowers. I then set them in a green border to represent grass with scalloped edges. I finished it with some smaller flowers and green tassels, again to represent tufts of grass. I have never made anything else like it and it's probably my proudest creative achievement.
One of my closest friend's loved this as soon as she saw it. So much so that she 'reserved' it and I kept it for her for many years..... until a few months ago when she told me she was going to be a Grandma for the first time!! So, finally my Flower Garden has a new home!
If you're interested in more details about any of these projects, items for sale or to order please message me using the contact info at the bottom of each blog page. Or check me out on Instagram @canalcottagecrafts or via the direct link at the top of the menu column at the right of each blog page. You can direct message me via Instagram too. Or email me canalcottagecrafts@hotmail.com or oldfolkstilldance@outlook.com

Well that's all for now folks!! No time left for dancing!!
